Because a holiday should simply be great!

Funnily enough “culture” is in fact the opposite of “nature”. After all, culture is man-made. Fortunately most people enjoy it just as much!
Landscape gardening, landscape architecture, but also museums, workshops and tasting houses are well-worth visiting.

Classical garden concepts and contemporary landscape gardening have been creatively married in De Rhulenhoftuinen. Are you looking for inspiration for your own garden? Then you should visit the Tuinen van Appeltern, which comprise as many as 190 model gardens, some of which of their own design, but most designed by celebrated landscape gardeners and/or landscape architects. What makes the gardens special is the fact that they change daily. The Nationaal Bevrijdingsmuseum 1944-1945 is impressive. Contained by the hills and woodlands of Groesbeek, it shows visitors of all ages the current meaning of freedom, democracy and human rights. And why not follow the Liberation Route next? Signposted erratic blocks - audio segments - on 23 sites in the area bring back to life the impressive experiences one or more people had in 1944-1945. Museumpark Oriëntalis (the former Bijbels Openluchtmuseum) is impressive in a different way. This park provides a modern perspective on the three religions – religions that created the identity of modern Europe: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Afrikamuseum is one of a kind. This beautiful museum attractively combines an indoor museum with a magnificent collection on the one hand and an educational and recreational outdoor museum on the other. Imkerij Immenhof offers an original and educational tour of the bee-keeping, gardens and vineyard. For more wine tasting you can visit Wijnhoeve Groesbeek, the ultimate place to learn in the Netherlands how wine is made and what it takes to grow grapes. Do you prefer beer? Bierbrouwerij Graaf van Heumen brews its beers in unique copper and glass kettles. For pottery visit Pottenbakkerij de Olde Kruyk. The 17th and 18th century regional earthenware shows that the clay used to be ideally suited to making pots and dishes for daily use.
